I thought I would be done after the Filly Four and Future Stars Bundle as well as a few others but MRH keeps the new offerings coming. While I have a good number of young athletes to root for, now I can look often at the new offerings that fit precisely to the pedigree and my racing circuit for my continued purchases. This never gets old! Thanks MRH management for all the work you do!

Solar Strike was given every opportunity. Reminds me of my first son. Might as well re name this horse ‘Solar Strike Out’.
It Made Me Young
It Made Me Young
On a sunny day when the sky was blue and all was right in my world, I made the trip to California on a midnight shuttle which took me to six airports but that is the price you pay for living life large as a minimalist. You see, all I wanted to do was to relive an event that first happened to me when I was twenty-seven at Churchill Downs, my home track. I had claimed a horse at Oaklawn Park with the help of the Hall of Fame trainer Doug Davis who was the perennial leading trainer and although he did not really want to take on a novice, poor at that, he was a friend of my wife's family so he asked his son-in-law, Billie Cunningham, to take the horse for me. He won that day which verified my handicapping skills and Bille sent him to me at Churchill Downs. The horse Come Home Soon, did just that for me when I ran him back on the double raise and I had nervously bet my entire bankroll on this horse who had eventual Hall of Fame and two-time Kentucky Derby winner in the irons, my all-time fav, Eddie Dellauseye. I was in the owner/trainer box near the cheap seats but the spot where the horses return for unsaddling and the winning photo is taken. At the head of the lane, Come Home Soon looked like a duck out of water since it was pouring rain and Eddie had him on the outside but appeared to be dying and my thoughts went to my children and my own irresponsible act to bet the mortgage money on a damned horse race! But such is the heart of those who love the races and the confidence we place in those fearless horses we all love. Then something happened, almost surreal... as I watched closely, I could see Eddie move his hands at the 1/8th pole which was near where I was standing, and in a surge, we were in the lead and opening and I was so jubilant, I was screaming and hugging anyone who got near me...and so it was an orphan boy who wasn't supposed to be there, who wasn't supposed to participate in the Sport of Kings... but was there because a priest taught him to read a racing form and what to look for in a horse ready to win. Came Home Soon won by four and he paid off my mortgage. It was the spirit and the thrill of being in the winners circle at the historic Churchill Downs that caused me to make my way to Del Mar to watch Going to Vegas emulate the perfect drama... when young men bask and old men dream and each exchange yarns of great moments and so it is that I say to you, my fellow My Racehorse partners...the dream is alive, the thrill the same and today I was twenty-seven again...living my life vicariously once again through this awesome filly... Going to Vegas!
lotsa fun

As a former race horse owner ( Quarter horses) I was thrilled to see an affordable way to experience the thrill of the win again. One of my first puchases was Authentic. I'll never ever forget my wifes reaction as He was coming down the backstretch at the Derby. OMG Our favorite song back in the day was "run for the Roses" who would have thught that 35 years later our dream came through. Thank you My Race Horse for allowing us to relive our fondest memories.. Our stable is now up to 32 beautiful creatures. No we are not in it for the money just the excitement and bragging rights. How many people can say " I own a share of the Kentucky Derby winner" and FYI I had 4 shares so gifted 1 share each to my 2 children. they are now on board with us.
My Cheap Thrill
My Cheap Thrill
When I was 17 I spent the summer with family in NJ. They lived a few blocks from Monmouth Park. I picked up a fun gig as a hot walker for a small independent horseman who was running two-year old and three-year old colts out of Dr. Fager. One day I showed up and there were all sorts of security officers around my stable. My owner had to vouch for me so I could get in. It seems they had stabled some 17 hands tall filly named Ruffian right next to my two horses! She was the most beautiful creature ever! Three years later having gone from CA to college in the Midwest, the first Friday night in May in a borrowed car and on borrowed money from my dorm treasury, off we went to Louisville. I cemented status as my dorm’s horse racing legend by picking (and failing to bet!) the only trifecta in my life with Seattle Slew at the top. Two years later I got to see Spectacular Bid win the Derby. With bloodlines like that, how could I not have dreamed all my life of owning a racing thoroughbred? It’s why for decades I never miss playing the Texas Lottery twice a week. So thanks to MyRacehorse, little ol’ me, former hot walker, owns a handful of micro-shares in Star Six Nine, a two year old colt in training. I’m learning cool stuff, plus I get a cheap thrill and a dream with every update and video. Last comment is my response to those naysayers about MyRacehorse being a rip off. My handful of shares in “my” horse gives me a greater % of ownership than I would have with the same number shares in IBM. Watching my horse run is way more fun that watching IBM, which never does more than plod. So far, I’m having a blast. All without winning the Texas Lottery. ??????

I was lucky to get to visit Lane Way , who I have shares in, as well as Moonlight D' Oro and Popular Demand at Julie Stacks Farm. Got to pet them and have photo's with them and watch Lane Way work out in the arena as well as well as his bath in the wash rack! Special thanks to Randy Johnson and Julie was a gracious host! Another reason to be involved with My Racehorse!

When I started buying Shares in my Horses I knew I was Not going to get rich but I Really enjoy wagering on my horses but out of all of them, I've only seen 3 Races and my Account has gained only a few Bucks. Like I said I Love to watch my horses race and this is getting very dull; But I will hang in there and watch for the action to start.
